Cheats will come. What are you planning to do?

If your game becomes popular, many cheat programs will appear.
As we already know, you can only detect cheats after they have been used and damaged the gameplay.

I would like to hear from developers, how do you plan to solve this problem?

A good example for me in Warz, where were servers for "veterans", which only high-level characters.
This made cheaters life more difficult. They would have to spend a lot of time to enter these servers. And then lose everything in one use cheat.
But in XERA is no branch of skills and character exp... so, what are you planning?

In order to hook a game using eac or be ect. You need a big boy brain and not just some crappy $10 p2c cheats for games like Fortnite are hundreds of dollars and those are massive games. I do not see cheating becoming an issue any time soon in this game.

Yesterday me and my friends were killed by a wallhack. Its becoming more and more common. 😔

We're constantly reviewing cheats and working on ways to block exploits.

We are also reviewing reports constantly - if you feel someone is cheating PLEASE report them. Players with many reports will be flagged for manual review and then banned if they are cheating.

Absolute nonsense.

As of right now there are both FREE and multiple paid fully functioning cheats out there, with polished ESP's, aimbot, autoheal and you name it. Trust me - cheating is already rampant in this game.

I'm almost 30 now and I've been dealing with hackers in every shooter game that I ever loved. 

It would be extremely stupid of me to expect Joshua to reinvent the wheel. 

The hacking vs Anti-hacking war has been a constant battle in the lives of many video games. 

The only thing you can really do is support the game, hope Joshua looks into stricter ways to stop poorly made hacks, and do your due diligence by reporting suspicious activity to constantly take out the trash. 

Also, I'll have you know that some of these "Hacking" instances may also just be bugs in the game too. Its early access. I've had a few events where peoples head or gun was sticking out through a wall and I could see them but they accused me of walling. Hell, I've even had people accuse me of "Heal hacking". So, keep an open mind out, make sure you're not just calling people a hacker as an insult, and make the game better.

I dont see aimbot much but Ive noticed more people being more self aware. Hmm

But as autoheal you persay, I think people just med macro at that point and macro'ing isnt really a cheat but a macro.

Tell me, what other games you play that are popular and are rampant with cheaters and they still can't get a full hold over it? A lot of them, fortnite does a decent job because they threatened a kid who cheated and you rarely see cheating on there after that.

All it takes is one threating response to a kid who cheated? LOL

Fortnite is not popular because of its competitive nature. This is a big reason why cheating is not prominent in the mainstream. It still obviously happens, but fortnite is advertised as casual. 

Start talking about games like Rainbow Six: Siege, Counter Strike, PubG, Majority of Survival games, and you'll start to see that hacks are used in a lot of these Competitive games and games that benefit from killing people with more than just a higher K/D

R6 Didnt curve down on cheaters hard until their game started to really kick off in popularity and they started to kick racists and cheaters down hard after that point. CS, ALWAYS had a shit awful time because people would just cheat regardless and valve anti cheat was god fucking awful. PUBG ALWAYS had a issue as well, they lazily tackle cheaters. And as for majority of survival games, its always going to be a issue. Why waste time when you can cheat and use the rarest of guns and survive.

 

Putting it like this, Fortnite is casual but still cheaters do come once in a great while. As for the others, they always had a issue. An you do underestimate the whole being held accountable for cheating. China takes it dead serious even now with their social point shit going on there.

One main thing they could do is have someone spend time every day, combing through the reports and weeding out 'cheaters' from people who just wildly accuse and people who actually report someone who is blatantly doing something like ESP'ing and Aimbotting.
